The Church that Compromised (Revelation 2:12-17)
The church in Pergamum lived in the shadow of false temples. And all of them were indeed false because Jesus had atoned for sin and made the physical stone-and-mortar temple obsolete. Pergamum had lots of false temples intruding into the skyline. Jesus called this place Satan's dwelling and the place of his throne.
The Christian church there was holding on. They were faithful. But in the difficulties where they lived, some of them had compromised.
Our sermon this week is from Revelation 2:12-17. I want to encourage you to read it, think about it, pray through it, and come ready to interact with God some more this Sunday.
For the Kingdom!
