I AM: The Bread of Life (John 6:22-59)

After taking 5 loaves and a couple of fish to miraculously feed 5,000 men (plus women and children) until they couldn’t eat any more, the people still wanted a sign that Jesus was the Messiah. He told them, “I am the bread of life.” This is the first of seven "I am” statements that Jesus made in the book of John to show that he is God and demonstrate his connection to the major themes of the Bible. There’s much we should see and chew on in John 6:22-59, but in his sermon, “I AM: The Bread of Life,” Pastor Bryan Catherman wants us to see three things: 1. Jesus is the giver and sustainer of life, 2. God is the provider of all we need, and 3. Our work is to believe and feast of Jesus, the Living Word made flesh.
