Worship Leader Residency (One Year)
Redeeming Life Church is offering a one-year Worship Leader Residency to the right candidate. Our Worship Leader Resident should be a Christian and a capable musician on the guitar, piano, or similar instrument. The Resident will be given opportunities to work with our Pastor of Worship and our Lead Pastor to select worship music, perform on our worship team, develop the Order of Worship, lead musical worship sets, work with AV components, and other related ministries. In addition, we will give the Resident opportunities and resources to learn more about musical worship ministry in a “boots-on-the-ground” learning environment.
While this is an unpaid residency, the right candidate will be given many opportunities to grow, gain experience, and build a resume. We will provide books and other resources. Every week, the Resident will receive an hour of training with Pastor Robbie Tschorn (our Pastor of Worship) and an hour with Dr. Bryan Catherman (our Lead Pastor) for discipleship, coaching, and general ministry training. As we hope the Resident may remain in Utah with Redeeming Life, another church, or join a church plant, we will also introduce the Resident to other pastors and church planters in the area. If necessary, we are very willing to modify this residency so it meets seminary field training education and could be eligible for seminary or Bible college credit. This residency might be perfect for online students!
We expect the Resident to be available and present at worship practices, our 11:00 AM Sunday morning worship service, and our 6:30 PM Sunday evening worship service. There may be other opportunities such as funerals, Easter, or other special services. While the Resident is not required to become a member, we expect that the Resident will be plugged in with Redeeming Life Church. He or she must agree with our statement of beliefs. Depending on the Resident, we may occasionally send the Resident to help lead worship at other churches, should those churches have a need.
Redeeming Life Church is the merge of a 60-year-old church and a 6-year-old church plant. We desire theologically rich music that includes old and new hymns as well as various contemporary songs. Type and style are far less important to us than biblical teaching and theological content.
We highly recommend that interested candidates review our website and watch at least a couple of live-streamed services. We want to be sure we are a good fit for the Resident as much as the Resident be a good fit for us.
Interested candidates should send a resume, cover letter, and music/worship performance samples to Info@RedeemingLifeUtah.org.
