Ways to Pray Together in September

Here are many other ways you can pray this month in your homes, and maybe together in the prayer room:

— Pray for spiritual growth. Ask the Lord to grow each of us in our knowledge and love of Christ. Pray that our church would be like the Bereans devoted to studying Scripture for spiritual growth.

— Please pray for those sick, dealing with cancer or injury, or struggling with various aspects of dementia. Pray for healing. And please remember to pray for their caregivers and those helping them.

— Pray for our behavior and actions on social media and the internet. The internet and social media can be both a tool and a trap. Please ask for wisdom and discernment for how we, especially our young people, navigate the internet.

— We need more volunteers to minister to our children in the children's ministry. Please pray that God grows in the hearts of our church and creates a desire for us to serve our brothers and sisters more. Also, pray that God brings more people to our church who strongly desire to love the Lord by serving his bride.

— Please pray for church unity. Pray against divisiveness and ask the Lord to continue cultivating love, grace, and understanding. (Ephesians 4:1-3)

— Pray for our nation's leaders and the upcoming election season. Regardless of your political affiliations, the Bible calls us to pray for those in authority. Please ask God to grant them wisdom beyond their ability (1 Timothy 2:1-2.)

— We'd love to see more musicians and audio-visual people on the worship team. Please pray that God will bring talented musicians and AV folks to join our church and worship team or that he raises them up from within our church.

— Pray for the defense of the faith. Pray for strength to stand firm in a culture growing hostile to biblical values. Ask God to equip us with wisdom, gentleness, and respect as we defend the faith once and for all delivered to the saints.

— Please pray for our church's evangelism and mission. Beg the Lord that he'll give us bigger hearts and more passion to make disciples of all nations, starting locally and moving outward, wherever there is opportunity. Ask for open doors and open hearts of people to receive the Gospel. (Matthew 28:18-20)

— Pray for marriages and families within the church. I'm sure Satan would love to see Christian homes divided. Let's combat this by praying for strong, Christ-centered marriages and families. (Ephesians 5:22-33)

— Please pray for persecuted Christians worldwide. Our brothers and sisters face persecution in various countries, sometimes even to the point of death. Let's intercede for them, asking God to grant them courage, hope, and opportunities to be a light in the darkness. (Hebrews 13:3)

— It's budget planning time at Redeeming Life. Please pray for our church finances. With increasing costs and people in financial struggles, we are facing some steep challenges for the remainder of this year and next. In years past, we've raised outside funds for our mission. We are asking the Lord if we need to do this again and how. Please ask God for wisdom, good stewardship, and financial blessing for the mission at Redeeming Life Church.

— Please pray for church servants and leaders. Ask God to sustain us as we serve and feed (shepherd) his flock.

— Please pray for our Ukrainian community at Redeeming Life. As they continue to settle into life in our community, ask God to help them reach the lost refugees with the Gospel. Please pray that they will learn English easily and quickly. Ask the Lord to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.

— We have another gathering for the member-men of Redeeming Life. Ask for God's blessing and that these activities strengthen our men and bring glory to Jesus' name.

— Let's pray for awakening and revival in our community. May God pour out His Spirit so that many come to a saving knowledge of Christ.

— Please ask the Lord for opportunities for us to serve other churches by sending out preachers to help them. Terry is available, and because we use a team ministry approach, Pastor Josiah or I (Pastor Bryan) can be available. Also, please remember to pray for the pastorless churches in Utah and Idaho. Ask God to provide them with a pastor.
