Two to Three-Year Church Planting/Revitalization Residency
Redeeming Life Church is offering a two to three-year Church Plant/Revitalization Residency to the right candidate. Our Planting Resident should be a mature Christian and have, or be considering, a call to church planting or church revitalization. The Resident will be given opportunities to work with our Lead Pastor, staff, and our Pastor Emeritus to develop pastoral and church planting skills. We expect this Resident to serve in many areas at Redeeming Life, teach in small group settings, engage in evangelism, and occasionally preach (depending on the Resident). In addition, we will give the Resident opportunities and resources to learn more about Utah ministry and church planting in a "boots-on-the-ground" learning environment.
Redeeming Life Church is the merge of a 60-year-old church and a 6-year-old church plant. While we do not consider ourselves experts in church planting or revitalization, we know we can provide the right candidate a learning space, encouragement, and opportunities. Exploring various planting network options, partnerships, fundraising, and learning the culture while gaining ministry experience in gospel teaching and preaching, church leadership, evangelism, discipleship, and other ministry is how we hope to help you on your planting journey. We believe in team ministry and desire to help others plant a church or revitalize one. And it may be that you'll help us be ready to launch and support you when God calls you to such a task.
While this is an unpaid residency, the right candidate will be given many opportunities to grow, gain preaching and teaching experience, learn the culture, and build a resume. We will provide books and other resources. Every week, the Resident will receive two hours of training, coaching, and discipleship with Bryan Catherman (our Lead Pastor). In addition, the Resident will be training and working with the other staff and ministry. As we hope the Resident may remain in Utah with Redeeming Life, another church, or plant a church plant, we will also introduce the Resident to other pastors and church planters in the area. If necessary, we are very willing to modify this residency to meet seminary field training education and be eligible for seminary or Bible college credit. Or it may be that we serve as your supporting/sending or training church with a church planting network. This residency might be perfect for online students or those who sense the call to plant but still have more experience to gain!
We expect the Resident to be present at our 11:00 AM Sunday morning worship service, our 6:30 PM Sunday evening worship service, and serve were called upon to do so. Considering the length and involvement of this residency, we expect the Resident to become a member of Redeeming Life Church. He must completely agree with our statement of beliefs. Depending on the Resident, there may be opportunities to preach and serve at other churches in need.
We highly recommend that interested candidates review our website and watch at least five live-streamed services, read our history, and learn as much as you can about us. We want to be sure we are a good fit for the Resident as much as the Resident be a good fit for us.
